Gypsies in a Trunk, an all-volunteer troupe of actors, performs fairy tales for the young and young at heart.  The troupe’s love of children’s theatre has led them to perform every May through September all over Ventura County.  The shows are free with donations suggested.

On May 5, 2019, Gypsies in a Trunk present “Rapunzel Meets Spiderman.” Here is a summary of the performance:

Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson smells a story when he hears about a long-haired girl locked away in a tall, tall tower, so he sends photographer Peter Parker (aka Spider-man) out to get some pictures. But Parker discovers a wayward Prince Bob Charming is having difficulties getting into the tower to rescue Rapunzel! Grizzelda (that’s Rapunzel’s evil witch mother) is coming back soon, so Bob better hurry! In the meantime, Spider-man’s arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin, has heard about Rapunzel and is on his way there too! Looks like there’s gonna be trouble. . .and maybe even a FIGHT!! Spidey may have to call for some help!
