We couldn’t be more excited to have South Pasadena Transit Authority close out our Concerts by the Sea summer series.

South Pasadena Transit Authority came about by a chance encounter with Stuart Blatt & Tim Hillman in the parking lot of South Pasadena Music Center and Conservatory one night back in 2008. As luck would have it, they shared their passion for the band, “Chicago”, discussed the possibility of forming a band and then, of course, thought nothing more of it.

Later that year, Tim joined an adult concert band with other former high school band geeks and the light bulb went off. Here was the horn section!

So, on a fateful day in November of 2008, nine people got together and squeaked and squawked out some Chicago tunes and the band was born. The rest, as they say, is history. They’re still nine members and we should mention, they sound pretty darned good, too!

Set against a summer sky in a beautiful Harbor park, visitors can enjoy a variety of musical selections at the Concerts by the Sea Summer Concert Series.

The series is held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Saturday from July 6 to August 31 at Harbor View Park, located off Harbor Boulevard just south of Marine Emporium Landing (3600 Harbor Blvd. Oxnard, CA 93035).
