Channel Islands Maritime Museum Opens BlueFin Gifts
The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is excited to announce the grand opening of BlueFin Gifts, Channel Islands Harbor’s exclusive specialty shop with an emphasis on nautical gifts and treasures.
BlueFin Gifts is located in the Museum’s lobby at 3900 Bluefin Circle in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor.
Prior to the gift shop’s rebranding, its items included mostly souvenirs related to the Museum’s exhibits, but now features attractive displays with a new name and logo designed by local artist Brett Bednorz.
The gift shop offers items for all ages with an eye for local art, gifts and jewelry that highlight local marine life, beaches and boating community as well as being mindful of sustainable materials that are friendly to the environment.
Shoppers can bring their own gift basket or purchase a nautical tote and fill it with all kinds of treasures from handmade cork wallets and bags, hand-thrown ceramics, sea glass jewelry, Oxnard’s Ethics Supply Co. eco-friendly, local artist Margy Gate’s works, darling stuffed sea animals and hard-to-find books such as “Diary of a Sea Captain’s Wife” written about the local Channel Islands. There is a delightful selection of all-occasion cards and all gifts come packaged in BlueFin Gifts' signature nautical bag.
The volunteer staff includes long-time docent and manager Linda Wilson and Museum Member, Louise Nelson, former proprietor of Beachflower Gifts; Hollywood Beach’s beloved local gift shop for years.
Open now, BlueFin Gifts’ hours match the Museum’s - Thursday through Monday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m./Sunday noon - 4p.m. and is free to the public. All proceeds go to support the non-profit Maritime Museum.
