Chowderfest 2019 Serves Up Food, Tunes, and Fun!
Foodies, music lovers, and those who like tasty beverages are in for a treat at the 5th Annual Chowderfest, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019 at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum. This is the summer’s most relaxing Harbor-front party!
The event includes chowder and wine tastings, samples of side dishes and desserts from local restaurants, Firestone Walker beer (for sale), live entertainment by Kelly’s Lot and Friends (Truth Jones & Jim Gustin, and Primal Kings), admission to the Maritime Museum, and new this year – corn hole, photo booth, and spin-the-wheel!
Join the fun as area restaurants compete for the coveted “People’s Choice” award which is voted by event attendees, and “Best Seafood Chowder” as determined by celebrity judges.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Maritime Museum, a cultural gem in Ventura County, which celebrates 500 years of Art that Sails, and gives back to the community with family events and education programs for students throughout the year.
Tickets can be purchased by clicking on this link or at the museum for $25 pre-sale and $30 the day of the event. The price includes chowder, beer & wine tastings; a variety of side dishes; and free Museum admission. The museum welcomes the public and community to attend. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.
The Maritime Museum is located in the Channel Islands Harbor at 3900 Bluefin Circle. Please – no dogs, carts, chairs or outside beverages are permitted at the event.
About the Channel Islands Maritime Museum
The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is open M/Th-Sat 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sun noon- 4 p.m. and closed Tues and Wed for group tours and private member events, also, closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Located in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor at 3900 Bluefin Circle. Explore galleries full of rare and beautiful maritime paintings dating back to the 1600’s, more than sixty world-class models of historic ships, rotating thematic fine arts exhibitions, and interactive exhibits that encourage visitors to expand their horizons about everything maritime.
