Hawaiian Chieftain Visits Channel Islands Harbor

Hawaiian Chieftain, a gaff-rigged topsail ketch build in Lahaina, Maui, will visit the Channel Islands Harbor from Jan. 30 to Feb. 11, 2019. This beautiful ship will be docked near the Channel Islands Maritime Museum and offer vessel tours, a natural history sail, and adventure sails.

A crew of 10-14 people will be on board both vessels to answer questions and tell you what you need to know about this beauty.

Visiting this tall ship is a perfect way to spend a few hours with your friends and family.

Vessel Tours

Walk-on tours allow visitors to meet with crew, similar to an open house, and learn more about the ship’s history. Reservations are not required, though a $5 donation per person is requested.

Adventure Sail

Adventure sails are two-hour family-oriented experiences with an opportunity to help the crew raise a sail, learn a sea shanty, and take the helm of a real tall ship, conditions permitting. Tickets are $49 for adults, $39 for children 12 years-old and younger. To purchase in advance, click here or call 1-800-200-5239.

Natural History Sail

Join science educator Amy David from The Nature Conservancy to learn about the ecology of the Channel Islands region.
